Every Mairaz piece is made to order. Use this Pakistani dress size guide to choose a standard stitched size, or send your own measurements for a custom-stitched fit. For the most reliable comparison, use measurements rather than relying only on a familiar US, UK, AU or letter-size label.
What the size chart numbers mean
The figures in the Mairaz chart are finished garment measurements taken flat, not body measurements. Lay a garment that already fits you well on a flat surface and compare it with the chart. Do not double the flat widths shown in the chart.
Choosing your order type

Unstitched: supplied as fabric components for you to tailor yourself. No standard size is required.

Standard Stitched: select a size from XS to XXXL and your height. We stitch according to the Mairaz standard size chart.

Custom Stitched: send your own measurements and any modesty, neckline or length preferences. Production begins once your order and measurements are confirmed.
Measurements for custom stitching
For a custom-stitched Pakistani dress, provide measurements in inches and keep the tape comfortably close to the body without pulling it tight.

Shoulder: measure across the back from one shoulder point to the other.

Bust / chest: measure around the fullest part of the bust.

Waist: measure around your natural waistline.

Hip: measure around the fullest part of the hips where the outfit requires it.

Armhole: measure around the shoulder and underarm where the sleeve joins the body.

Sleeve length: measure from the shoulder point to your preferred finished sleeve length.

Shirt or gown length: measure from the shoulder down to the finished length you want.

Trouser length: measure from the waist to the desired finished hem.

Height: provide your full height so long maxis, gowns, Pishwas and trousers can be proportioned correctly.
Standard size vs custom measurements
If your measurements sit between two standard sizes, compare the bust, waist and shoulder first and choose the closest comfortable fit. For heavily embellished bridal dresses, fitted bodices, full-length gowns or unusual proportions, Custom Stitched is usually the safer option because the garment is prepared to the measurements you provide.
Length for maxis, gowns and Pishwas
For floor-length styles, tell us your height and consider the shoes you plan to wear. Finished length matters more on a wedding gown, bridal maxi or Pishwas than on a shorter shirt, so contact us before production if you need a specific hem length.
