Unstitched vs Standard Stitched vs Custom Stitched Pakistani Dresses
Share
Choosing between Unstitched, Standard Stitched and Custom Stitched changes who controls the final fit, how measurements are used and how much preparation is needed before your event. The best option depends on whether you prefer your own tailor, whether a standard size already suits you and how close your event date is.
Unstitched vs Standard Stitched vs Custom Stitched
| Option | Best for | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Unstitched | Customers using their own tailor | Fabric and included embroidered components are supplied for cutting and sewing |
| Standard Stitched | Customers close to a standard Mairaz size | The garment is stitched according to the standard size chart and the selected design |
| Custom Stitched | Customers who want the garment prepared to supplied measurements | Mairaz stitches the design using the measurements provided, within the construction limits of the article |
What does Unstitched mean?
Unstitched means the outfit has not been cut and sewn into a finished garment. The product includes the fabric and components listed on that specific product page for your tailor to prepare. It should not be assumed to be semi-stitched.
Unstitched can be a good choice if you already have a trusted tailor, need a construction preference that is easier to manage locally, or want your tailor to handle the final fitting. Always check the individual listing because fabric quantity, embroidered panels and included pieces vary by design.

What is Standard Stitched?
Standard Stitched is prepared according to the Mairaz standard measurements for the selected size. Compare your measurements with the Mairaz Size Guide rather than relying only on the size label you normally buy elsewhere.
For formal and wedding dresses, bust, waist, shoulder, armhole and garment length can affect the fit differently from everyday clothing. If you fall between sizes, contact us before ordering rather than assuming a smaller or larger size will work.
What is Custom Stitched?
Custom Stitched is prepared using the measurements you provide. It is most useful when standard sizing is not close to your proportions or when you need a specific finished fit within the limits of the original design.
Custom stitching does not mean every design detail can be changed. Embroidered panels, border placement, available fabric and the original cut can limit neckline, sleeve, trouser or silhouette changes. If a particular modification is important, ask before placing the order.
Should you send body measurements or garment measurements?
Ready-garment measurements can be especially useful when you have an existing formal outfit that fits exactly the way you want. Body measurements can also be used, but they need to be taken accurately and consistently. Follow the measurement method requested by the sizing team rather than mixing body and finished-garment measurements in the same set.
Do not forget garment length
For maxis, gowns, Pishwas dresses and lehengas, height alone does not determine the ideal finished length. Shoes, waist placement, the design's intended proportions and whether the hem is meant to skim or cover the foot all matter. Check the selected article's intended construction before requesting a different length.
What about lining?
Net, organza and other translucent fabrics may require lining depending on the design and the coverage you want. Do not assume that an unstitched outfit includes lining unless the product listing says so. For stitched orders, ask about the available lining option before ordering if opacity is important to you.
Which option is best for a wedding deadline?
Unstitched can reach you without Mairaz stitching time, but you still need to allow time for your own tailor. Standard and Custom Stitched require garment preparation before dispatch. For international orders, Standard delivery is generally estimated at 14 to 20 working days and Express at 6 to 10 working days where available.
Do not plan around the final possible delivery day. Leave time for courier delays and any adjustment you may want after receiving the garment. If your wedding is close, contact us before ordering.
Which option should you choose?
Choose Unstitched if you trust your own tailor and want local control over the final sewing. Choose Standard Stitched if your measurements closely match the Mairaz size chart. Choose Custom Stitched if you need the garment prepared to your supplied measurements and the selected design supports the fit you need.
